About The Position

J.Jill is seeking a passionate, customer-focused, results-driven Assistant Store Manager to support the overall success of the store. The role involves building customer and community relationships, inspiring and developing a team, and helping drive a profitable business while creating a meaningful, authentic customer experience. The Assistant Store Manager supports the Store Manager and contributes to store performance, daily operations, inventory management, and visual merchandising.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of Women's Specialty Retail experience preferred, including at least 1 year in a leadership role.
• Ability to support and develop high-performing teams.
• Strong customer service skills and ability to build lasting relationships.
• Experience analyzing business trends and executing action plans.
• Passion for fashion, styling, and merchandising.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to manage ambiguity with confidence.
• Availability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
• Ability to perform the physical requirements of the role, including lifting and carrying up to 30 pounds and joint/team lifting.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

• Role-model genuine customer interactions, develop and maintain strong customer relationships, and support community engagement initiatives.
• Assist with hiring, training, and developing a high-performing team; coach and support associates and recognize individual and team achievements.
• Analyze sales trends, help set goals, execute strategies, and communicate with the team to meet or exceed targets while ensuring a seamless shopping experience.
• Maintain strong knowledge of J.Jill products and provide personalized styling recommendations.
• Support daily store operations, manage inventory, lead floor sets, and maintain visual merchandising standards in accordance with company guidelines.
• Take ownership of assigned responsibilities, address challenges proactively, and support the Store Manager in overall store success.
• Communicate effectively across different organizational levels and adapt messaging to diverse audiences.
• Perform additional responsibilities as assigned to support store success.
