The role supports strategies and plans for achieving key performance indicators and financial targets through business analysis, action planning, effective communication, and accountability. When the Store Manager is not present, the Assistant Store Manager is responsible for all primary duties. It helps ensure brand standards are met across merchandising, planograms, marketing, back rooms, and dress code; addresses customer concerns; and analyzes store trends and customer demand. The Assistant Store Manager engages, trains, develops, recruits, coaches, and holds associates accountable while supporting positive associate relations and an inclusive workplace. The role ensures company processes are executed, including digital and omni-channel fulfillment, inventory and shipment processing, payroll and scheduling, store opening and closing, and company assignments. It also promotes workplace safety, enforces policies and procedures, protects company assets, supports inventory and cash controls, uses reporting and technology, and ensures HAZMAT training and execution. The role may require work in other stores from time to time. Physical requirements include prolonged standing and walking; recurring bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, and reaching; and recurring lifting of moderately heavy items such as shipment or record boxes. The work environment is a retail store and may also include offices, meeting and training rooms, residences, or commercial vehicles, with normal safety precautions.
