The Assistant Store Manager oversees all aspects of operating a retail and food-service location. The role includes hiring, training, and scheduling 20–60 coworkers; working in the kitchen; maintaining food safety; ordering and inventory control; managing profit and loss (P&Ls); and cleaning and stocking the store. Assistant Managers are typically scheduled for 45 hours over a five-day workweek and receive time-and-a-half for additional hours worked over 40 in a week. The shift is variable. Kwik Trip describes itself as a family-owned company that shares 40% of pre-tax profits with coworkers through bonuses that range from 8–12% of each coworker’s gross annual wage, depending on company profitability. The position offers a comprehensive benefits package. The company also highlights development opportunities from Assistant Manager roles into further leadership positions.
