About The Position

The Assistant Store Manager supports the Store Manager in ensuring efficient and successful store operations. The role helps create a positive and productive work environment, delivers a high level of customer service, and motivates and guides the team through strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills. The position is suited to a dedicated, accountable, customer-oriented retail professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and promotes teamwork and open communication. The Assistant Store Manager helps drive sales and store performance, train and develop team members, oversee daily operations and inventory, and maintain visual merchandising and cleanliness standards. The role serves as a liaison between Sales Leads, Sales Ambassadors, and store management, helping the team deliver high-quality customer experiences and meet commercial goals. Depending on experience and performance, the role may also support new store openings across the United States.

Requirements

Eligibility to work in the United States for any employer.
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, holidays, and weekends.
People-oriented approach and ability to work with a team toward store goals and build connections with guests.
At least 1–2 years of experience in retail and customer service.
Ability to lift more than 20 pounds; stand for long periods; bend, stretch, and perform repetitive motions; and push, pull, and carry items for short distances, including climbing a ladder and using a step stool.

Responsibilities

Assist with marketing initiatives and promotional events to drive store traffic and brand awareness.
Provide the Store Manager with updates on store performance, sales figures, and customer feedback, and share insights with corporate teams to support improvement.
Follow company and department policies and procedures consistently and effectively.
Lead by example and coach the team to provide outstanding customer service.
Collaborate with the Store Manager to set sales targets and participate in achieving them.
Monitor sales performance and key performance indicators, and take proactive steps to drive sales and revenue.
Use retail training materials in accordance with company and brand strategies.
Ensure team members participate in chat-ins at the start and end of their shifts.
Delegate tasks according to team members’ knowledge and skills.
Assist with training and developing team members in product knowledge, sales techniques, and customer service.
Conduct coaching sessions and provide feedback to support performance and professional growth.
Help oversee daily operations, including opening and closing procedures, cash handling, and store facilities.
Help ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
Maintain visual merchandising standards and participate in store layout changes and seasonal updates.
Assist with inventory management, including replenishment, stockroom organization, and stock checks; help maintain appropriate stock levels and minimize discrepancies.
Help maintain store cleanliness and organization, including the sales floor, fitting rooms, cash desk, bathroom, and stockroom.
Perform daily cleaning tasks, including dusting and cleaning fixtures and decor; cleaning glass, mirrors, and doors; emptying trash; sweeping and mopping floors; and sanitizing sinks, counters, shared areas, and equipment.
Act as a liaison between Sales Leads, Sales Ambassadors, and store management to support customer service, efficient operations, sales strategies, and commercial goals.
Provide training to Sales Leads and Sales Ambassadors, potentially across departments.
Support new store openings across the United States if selected based on experience and performance.
Participate in nationwide contests among Oniverse locations.
