About The Position

The Assistant Store Manager assists the Store Manager in upholding the daily operations of a retail store and supporting maximum sales and profitability. The role covers merchandising execution, expense and inventory management, team training and development, human resources support, and outstanding customer service. The Assistant Store Manager is responsible for the quality and performance of store staff, compliance with company policies and standards, and helping the store meet its goals. The position may require working in multiple stores within the assigned district and traveling by car, plane, or train. The standard work week does not exceed 40 hours, and a flexible schedule may include days, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Requirements

At least one year of retail management experience.
Solid knowledge of business and excellent command of the English language to communicate effectively with management, associates, and customers.
Strong interpersonal skills, including poise, tact, and diplomacy when handling sensitive and confidential situations.
Ability to think strategically and plan and organize effectively.
Professionalism in all situations.
Analytical ability to gather and summarize data for reports, solve administrative problems, and prioritize work.
Results-driven approach, critical and creative thinking, project management, time management, analytical skills, and strong organizational skills.
Ability to exercise discretion, maintain confidentiality, and use independent judgment, compassion, and diplomacy.
Ability to plan, organize, multitask, set priorities, and respond proactively to changing demands from multiple sources.
Ability to execute directives with precision and consistency.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
Willingness to work in multiple stores in the assigned district.
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.
Ability to work extended hours during critical project phases and in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with flexibility.
Reliable transportation.
Willingness to travel by car, plane, or train.

Responsibilities

Support the overall quality and performance of retail store staff.
Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
Model effective leadership to gain commitment to store goals and training standards.
Assist with recruiting, selecting, training, and developing store personnel.
Assist the Store Manager and provide feedback on annual performance evaluations for store employees.
Assist with expense management and develop strategies to help stores perform in accordance with budget.
Help monitor and identify loss or inventory inconsistencies so the store achieves shrink goals at or below company plan.
Monitor and control operational compliance, safety, and business standards.
Support employee training in suggested selling and merchandising techniques.
Uphold company customer service standards and provide customers with a friendly environment and outstanding service.
Assist with accurate and regular merchandise inventory counts.
Perform other duties as assigned.
