About The Position

The Full-Time Sales Associate assists the store management team with daily store operations, including customer service, sales, merchandising, and other duties assigned by management. Work is expected to be professional, courteous, reliable, and results-oriented. The standard work week is a minimum of 35 hours and a maximum of 40 hours. The role involves helping customers identify and select suitable merchandise, maintaining store standards, supporting shipments and inventory tasks, and contributing to a safe, compliant, and orderly sales environment. The associate also helps monitor shrink, follows loss-prevention and point-of-sale procedures, and supports the training of employees in selling and merchandising techniques.

Requirements

Previous retail or customer-service experience is preferred but not required.
High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
Excellent command of English to communicate effectively with management, customers, and employees.
Demonstrated leadership and ability to work with minimal supervision and take charge of the store when necessary.
Open availability and flexibility to meet customer demand and business needs.
Basic fashion and style trend knowledge and interest in working with customers in a retail setting.
Proven ability to build and work as part of a team, handle responsibility, and understand the needs of the street-lifestyle customer.
Reliable transportation.
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.
Ability to work extended hours during critical project phases and in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

Build customer relationships and assist customers professionally, courteously, attentively, honestly, and responsively.
Identify customer needs and provide knowledgeable product assistance.
Apply basic fashion and trend knowledge to recommend appropriate merchandise and meet DTLR standards.
Assist with shipments, merchandising, restocking, and pricing.
Maintain a positive and enthusiastic attitude toward the job and company.
Comply with and enforce company policies.
Participate in service training and product programs.
Assist the Store Manager in monitoring and identifying loss or store inconsistencies to help meet shrink goals at or below company plan.
Monitor and control operational compliance, safety, and business standards.
Support employee training in suggested selling and merchandising techniques.
Minimize inventory shrinkage by protecting the store against shoplifting and internal theft, and follow loss-prevention policies and security procedures.
Follow point-of-sale procedures, balance money taken in during an assignment, and work with store management to investigate discrepancies.
Keep management informed of important developments, potential problems, and information needed for effective management.
Help maintain a neat and orderly sales environment.
Work in multiple stores in the assigned district as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned.
