About The Position

The Assistant Store Manager supports AutoZone’s daily store operations, team performance, and sales in a fast-paced retail environment. The role assists the Store Manager with developing employees, maintaining effective store operations, meeting sales and inventory goals, and delivering WOW! customer service. The Assistant Store Manager may take responsibility for store operations in the absence of the Store Manager or Commercial Sales Manager.

• Basic automotive parts knowledge.
• Proven leadership experience with strong communication, decision-making, and sales-driving skills.

• Ability to foster a positive work culture focused on development and results.
• Proficiency in managing, analyzing, and reconciling Profit & Loss statements.
• Ability to lift, load, and deliver merchandise safely and accurately.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as business needs arise.

• Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certification.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Store Manager in recruiting, supervising, scheduling, training, and developing store personnel.
• Communicate effectively with employees and customers to foster a positive and engaging environment.
• Help meet sales targets, maintain accurate inventory levels, and optimize cash flow.
• Ensure efficient store workflows and compliance with company standards when the Store Manager or Commercial Sales Manager is absent.
• Ensure customers receive WOW! service, proactively resolve concerns, and turn complaints into positive experiences.
• Lead company initiatives by supporting productivity, training, and retention of high-performing employees.
• Maintain operational efficiency through effective merchandising and a clean, organized, visually appealing shopping environment.
• Enforce the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), promote workplace safety, and assist with risk management.
• Support budgeting, analyze Profit & Loss statements, and monitor expense controls to maximize profitability.
