About The Position

The Assistant Store Manager, referred to at NIKE as an Assistant Head Coach, leads and inspires a team to deliver excellent customer experiences while ensuring team members feel included and supported. The role is based in a high-volume, fast-paced retail environment and represents the NIKE brand, its culture of sport, and its community. The Assistant Store Manager uses retail expertise to drive store growth strategies, develop community partnerships, and support team development through training and implementation of NIKE Service Principles.

Requirements

Four years of customer-facing retail or hospitality experience.
Three years of leadership experience.
Demonstrated ability to recruit, build, and lead high-performing teams.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and retail business systems.
Ability to bend, squat, reach, climb a ladder, and stand for extended periods, with or without reasonable accommodations.
Proven ability to use tools for conflict resolution and employee coaching and counseling.
Ability to work mornings, weekends, nights, and holidays as needed.

Responsibilities

Lead a team to keep all store functions running seamlessly.
Attract, assess, and onboard teammates to ensure the store is staffed.
Equip store employees with the tools needed to succeed in their day-to-day responsibilities.
Lead the store team and business results, including budgeting, planning, customer service, sales, people leadership, and management.
Manage the product life cycle from the stockroom to visual merchandising and the sales floor.
Coach and inspire the team to deliver strong customer experiences and help team members feel included and supported.
Train the team and implement NIKE Service Principles.
Drive store growth strategies and develop opportunities to build community partnerships.
