About The Position

The Assistant Store Manager assists the Store Manager with the daily operations of a retail store, helping achieve maximum sales and profitability through merchandising execution, expense and inventory management, team training and development, human resources management, and outstanding customer service. The position helps uphold company policies, operational compliance, safety, and business standards while supporting the store team and maintaining customer service expectations. The standard work week does not exceed 40 hours. A flexible schedule is required, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays. The role may require working in multiple stores within the assigned district and travel by car, plane, or train.

Requirements

At least one year of retail management experience.
Solid knowledge of business and excellent command of English to communicate effectively with management, associates, and customers.
Strong interpersonal skills for handling sensitive and confidential situations with poise, tact, and diplomacy.
Ability to think strategically and plan and organize effectively.
Ability to maintain professionalism in all situations.
Proficient analytical ability to gather and summarize data for reports, solve administrative problems, and prioritize work.
Results-driven, with critical and creative thinking skills, project management, time management, analytical, and strong organizational skills.
Ability to exercise discretion, maintain confidentiality, and use independent judgment, compassion, and diplomacy.
Ability to plan, organize, multitask, set priorities, and respond proactively to changing demands from multiple sources.
Ability to execute directives with precision and consistency.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
Willingness to work in multiple stores in the assigned district.
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.
Ability to work extended hours during critical project phases and in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Reliable transportation.
Willingness to travel by car, plane, or train.

Responsibilities

Be responsible for the overall quality and performance of retail store staff.
Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
Model effective leadership to gain commitment to store goals and training standards.
Assist with recruiting, selecting, training, and developing store personnel.
Assist the Store Manager with annual performance evaluations and provide feedback.
Assist with expense management and develop strategies to help stores perform within budget.
Help monitor and identify issues related to store loss or inconsistencies so shrink remains at or below company plan.
Monitor and control operational compliance, safety, and business standards.
Support training employees in suggested selling and merchandising techniques.
Help ensure company customer service standards are met by providing customers with a friendly environment and outstanding service.
Assist with accurate and regular merchandise inventory counts.
Perform other duties as assigned.
