About The Position

North 40 Outfitters is seeking a full-time salaried Assistant Store Manager to help lead its Great Falls team. The role partners directly with the Store Manager to drive sales, develop team members, oversee daily store operations, and deliver an outstanding customer experience. The successful candidate is a results-driven retail leader with strong people-management skills, a passion for coaching, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. The Assistant Store Manager is responsible for the customer experience and is expected to help exceed customer expectations.

The role requires working scheduled shifts during business hours of Monday through Saturday, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Sunday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Managers commonly work 50 or more hours per week. Shifts may include weekends and certain holidays, and scheduling must be flexible based on business needs.

Requirements

• Previous retail management or leadership experience.
• Experience leading and developing large teams.
• Strong communication, coaching, and decision-making skills.
• Proven accountability for team performance and results.
• Ability to multitask and lead in a fast-paced retail environment.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with merchandising, inventory management, and sales leadership.
• Knowledge of farm and ranch, outdoor recreation, hardware, or animal health.
• Forklift certification or ability to obtain required certifications.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop a sales team of 20 or more employees.
• Drive sales performance and execute business goals.
• Support hiring, training, scheduling, and performance management.
• Oversee daily store operations, including opening and closing routines.
• Manage freight flow, inventory, merchandising, and replenishment.
• Ensure store safety, security, and operational compliance.
• Deliver exceptional customer service and guest satisfaction.
• Partner with the Store Manager to drive results and continuously improve store performance.
