About The Position

The Assistant Store Manager supports the Store Manager in the daily operation of a retail store, helping ensure maximum sales and profitability through merchandising execution, expense and inventory management, team training and development, human resources management, and outstanding customer service. The role is responsible for store staff quality and performance, policy compliance, operational standards, and helping the store meet its goals. The standard work week does not exceed 40 hours, and a flexible schedule is required, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Requirements

At least one year of retail management experience.
Solid business knowledge and excellent English-language communication skills.
Strong interpersonal skills, including poise, tact, and diplomacy when handling sensitive or confidential situations.
Ability to think strategically and plan and organize effectively.
Professionalism in all situations.
Analytical ability to gather and summarize data for reports, solve administrative problems, and prioritize work.
Results-driven critical and creative thinking, project management, time management, analytical, and organizational skills.
Ability to exercise discretion, confidentiality, and independent judgment with compassion and diplomacy.
Ability to plan, organize, multitask, set priorities, and respond proactively to changing demands from multiple sources.
Ability to execute directives with precision and consistency.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
Willingness to work in multiple stores in the assigned district.
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.
Ability to work extended hours during critical project phases and in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Reliable transportation.
Willingness to travel by car, plane, or train.

Responsibilities

Support the Store Manager in daily store operations and help ensure sales and profitability goals are met.
Oversee the quality and performance of retail store staff.
Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
Model effective leadership and build commitment to store goals and training standards.
Assist with recruiting, selecting, training, and developing store personnel.
Assist the Store Manager with annual employee performance evaluations and provide feedback.
Assist with expense management and develop strategies to meet budget expectations.
Monitor and identify loss or inventory inconsistencies to help achieve shrink goals at or below company plan.
Monitor and control operational compliance, safety, and business standards.
Support employee training in suggested selling and merchandising techniques.
Maintain company customer service standards and provide customers with a friendly environment and outstanding service.
Assist with accurate and regular merchandise inventory counts.
Perform other duties as assigned.
