About The Position

Road Runner Sports is hiring an Assistant Store Manager for a manager-in-training role. The position leads and supports the sales floor, holds the team accountable for the company’s “100% Commitments,” and helps the store meet or exceed revenue goals and customer-service expectations. Success is measured by developing successors and consistently achieving key performance indicators. The role requires availability seven days a week to support customers and the team.

The position includes a stated pay range of $25.00–$30.00 per hour, along with eligibility for a quarterly store-performance bonus. A background check is required after a potential offer is accepted and before the start date.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of retail or consumer sales experience, including 2 years in a supervisory or management role.
• Availability seven days a week to support customer and team needs.

Responsibilities

• Lead, facilitate, and oversee the sales floor while holding the team accountable for the company’s “100% Commitments.”
• Help the store meet and exceed revenue goals, customer-service expectations, and key performance indicators.
• Monitor store inventory and processes; coach and develop the Inventory Support Specialist and hold them accountable for accuracy and timeliness.
• Oversee the Finish Line checkout process and ensure customers are informed about the VIP program’s benefits.
• Perform opening and closing duties reliably and punctually.
• Develop team members, take corrective action, and lead the review process.
• Implement monthly merchandise plans and plan-o-grams as directed by the Merchandising Department.
• Prepare and conduct pre-race meetings to ready team members for the day’s events as they start their shifts.
• Participate in ongoing leadership training and identify and develop a replacement.
• Inspire the team with a positive attitude and high energy.
• Educate customers about products, including shoes, socks, insoles, apparel, and accessories.
