About The Position

The Assistant Store Manager, referred to at NIKE as an Assistant Head Coach, leads and coaches a team at the Nike Factory Store at Opry Mills in Nashville, Tennessee. The role works in a high-volume, fast-paced retail environment and focuses on customer service, team development, store growth, and community partnerships. The Assistant Store Manager helps bring NIKE’s Service Principles and culture of sport to life while fostering an inclusive, supportive team environment and positive customer experiences. The position is full time, 34–40 hours per week, including nights and weekends. The role offers opportunities to develop and advance a career through education programs.

Requirements

Four years of customer-facing retail or hospitality experience.
Three years of leadership experience.
Demonstrated ability to recruit, build, and lead high-performing teams.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and retail business systems.
Ability to bend, squat, reach, climb a ladder, and stand for extended periods, with or without reasonable accommodations.
Proven ability to use tools for conflict resolution and employee coaching and counseling.
Ability to work mornings, weekends, nights, and holidays as needed.

Responsibilities

Lead, coach, and inspire the team to deliver strong customer experiences and create an inclusive, supportive environment.
Help ensure all store functions run seamlessly.
Attract, assess, and onboard future teammates to ensure the store is staffed.
Equip store employees with the tools they need to succeed in their day-to-day responsibilities.
Lead store business results and critical metrics, including budgeting, planning, customer service, sales, people leadership, and management.
Manage the product life cycle from the stockroom to visual merchandising and the sales floor.
Train the team and implement NIKE Service Principles.
Drive store growth strategies and create opportunities to build community partnerships.
Use conflict-resolution tools and employee coaching and counseling.
