About The Position

Mach 1 Truck Stop is hiring an Assistant Store Manager for its new Marion location in Marion, Illinois. The role supports the Store Manager and is responsible for managing the entire location, including personnel, when the Store Manager is absent. The Assistant Store Manager provides excellent customer service and helps ensure the store achieves the highest profitability. Pay starts at $15.50 per hour, with a $0.25 increase every three months during the first year, reaching $16.50 per hour, followed by regular increases. Advancement opportunities are available. A background screen is required.

Responsibilities

Manage the entire location, including personnel, when the Store Manager is absent.
Provide excellent customer service and help ensure the highest profitability of the store.
Assist the Store Manager with daily paperwork and filing daily reports.
Conduct inventory counts and cash audits.
Ensure all deposits are taken to the bank daily.
Properly record invoices for inventory control.
Communicate daily with sales associates and corporate office personnel.
Work with vendors and ensure proper placement of orders.
Create schedules without exceeding allotted labor hours.
Ensure the store appearance reflects company standards.
Manage prices by checking competitor pricing.
Follow all laws pertaining to store operations.
Ensure all personnel adhere to company policies.
Properly handle staffing issues as they arise.
Ensure safety in the workplace.
