About The Position

As an Assistant Store Manager at AutoZone, you’ll support daily store operations, energize team performance, and drive sales in a fast-paced retail environment. Through leadership, communication, and a commitment to WOW! customer service, you’ll help shape store success and develop future talent. You will assist the Store Manager with team leadership and store operations, help achieve sales and inventory goals, oversee customer service, and support safety and financial controls.

• Basic automotive parts knowledge.
• Proven leadership experience with strong communication, decision-making, and sales-driving skills.
• Integrity, professionalism, and commitment to customer satisfaction.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while promoting operational excellence and team engagement.
• Ability to foster a positive work culture focused on development and results.
• Proficiency in managing, analyzing, and reconciling Profit & Loss statements.
• Ability to lift, load, and deliver merchandise safely and accurately.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as business needs arise.

• Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certification.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Store Manager in recruiting, supervising, scheduling, training, and developing store personnel.
• Promote clear and effective communication with employees and customers.
• Help meet sales targets, maintain accurate inventory levels, and optimize cash flow.
• Ensure efficient store workflows and compliance with company standards when the Store Manager or Commercial Sales Manager is absent.
• Ensure customers receive WOW! service, proactively resolve concerns, and turn complaints into positive experiences.
• Support company initiatives through employee productivity, training, and retention, while maintaining operational efficiency.
• Maintain effective merchandising and a clean, organized, visually appealing shopping environment.
• Enforce the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), promote workplace safety, and assist with risk management.
• Support budgeting, analyze Profit & Loss statements, and monitor expense controls to maximize profitability.
