About The Position

The Assistant Store Manager supports the daily operations of one or more self-storage locations under the guidance of the District Manager and Store Manager. The role helps maintain high cleanliness standards and operational excellence while building customer relationships through in-person and phone interactions, presenting a structured sales process, and managing customer accounts.

The position includes a work/life balance with daytime hours and the potential for Sundays off, depending on location. The role may involve travel to other sites as needed. Physical duties range from sedentary desk work to active tasks, with exposure to seasonal weather conditions.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of customer-facing work experience.
• A current, valid driver's license and access to a reliable personal vehicle for daily bank deposits and travel to other sites as needed, except in New York City and Brooklyn.
• High school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain strong customer relationships by identifying storage needs and providing tailored solutions.
• Maximize sales objectives through unit rentals, unit insurance, and moving supplies.
• Maintain site cleanliness through continuous upkeep, including sweeping, mopping, and grounds maintenance in the office, storage buildings, and surrounding areas.
• Perform daily site safety inspections, including lock checks.
• Address and resolve customer concerns related to billing, security, auctions, and proper site usage.
• Handle cash transactions, balance receipts, follow up on delinquent payments, process customer payments, and complete daily bank deposits.
• Establish and maintain professional relationships with Extra Space employees to support the company culture.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
