About The Position

The Assistant Store Manager supports the Store Manager in leading the store’s daily business, developing employees, maintaining visual and operational standards, and achieving sales and shrink goals. The role supervises Key Holders and Sales Associates and helps create a superior customer experience and a positive atmosphere for both customers and employees. The Assistant Store Manager recruits, hires, trains, coaches, and develops team members; assists with performance reviews and action plans; and helps ensure compliance with employment policies. The role also oversees merchandise processing and presentation, maintains clean and neat sales areas, supports e-commerce order fulfillment, and performs store-opening, closing, deposit, and other operational duties. Work schedules are based on business needs and may include holidays, nights, and weekends.

Requirements

Minimum high school degree or equivalent.
Minimum 1 year of retail management experience.
Ability to lead a team, delegate, and follow up.
Ability to train and develop employees.
Ability to work well within a team.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to work a schedule based on business needs, including holidays, nights, and weekends.
Strong verbal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

Motivate the team by communicating the Alumni Hall vision.
Show passion for the Alumni Hall brand and help set the standard for running the daily business.
Participate in productive monthly staff meetings.
Recruit, hire, train, and develop a high-energy, high-performance team that provides a superior customer experience.
Coach team members in their job responsibilities to increase confidence and productivity.
Ensure team members adhere to employment policies.
Recognize performance issues and assist the Store Manager in developing action plans.
Assist the Store Manager in the performance review process.
Create a fun and exciting atmosphere for customers and employees.
Manage merchandise receipt, processing, placement, replenishment, and markdowns efficiently.
Maintain high standards of cleanliness and neatness on the sales floor, at the cash wrap, and in fitting rooms.
Open and close the store, handle deposits, and follow daily operations and expectations.
Ensure e-commerce orders are filled and processed quickly and efficiently according to company standards.
Strive to achieve daily, monthly, and annual sales goals.

Maintain operational standards to secure store assets.
Assist the Store Manager in achieving UPT, ADS, and E-Mail Capture goals.
Assist the Store Manager with proper scheduling practices.
