About The Position

The Assistant Store Director assists the Store Director with the complete operation of a designated El Super store. The role works with corporate management, department heads, associates, and vendors to drive sales and ensure high levels of customer service. The Assistant Store Director serves as a role model for professionalism, ethical behavior, and effective decision-making, and assists with the proper operation of all grocery store departments. The position also helps the Store Director focus on store employees and resolve complex problems, while coordinating employees’ work to achieve satisfactory operating results in compliance with company procedures and policies.

The work environment is a fast-paced grocery store. Essential job functions involve lifting, standing, walking, and kneeling, as well as visual and auditory requirements. CPFM – Certified Food Protection Manager certification, or equivalent, is required for positions related to preparing, handling, or serving food.

Starting pay is $22 per hour. Actual starting pay is determined by qualifications, including experience and relevant skills.
