About The Position

The Assistant Spa Manager assists in providing leadership and management of the Spa Department and contributes to strategic and operational decisions regarding spa treatments and philosophies. The role oversees Therapists, Estheticians, Attendants, and Receptionists, and manages the Spa and Salon areas, including the Front Desk, Fitness Facilities, Locker Room, Relaxation Lounge, Treatment Rooms, and Retail. The position also supports the integration of the Spa with hotel operations and the delivery of service and sales standards.

Requirements

Excellent reading, writing, and oral proficiency in English.
Superior knowledge of spa, wellness, and treatments.
Ability to operate Spa computer systems.
Knowledge of treatments offered by Massage Therapists, Estheticians, and Nail Technicians.
Strong communication skills with customers, vendors, employees, and co-workers.
Minimum of five years of experience in a luxury Spa or related field.
Open and flexible availability is required.

Nice To Haves

College degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management or Business Administration.
Previous experience with Spa retail.

Responsibilities

Manage and oversee all Spa and Salon areas, including the Front Desk, Fitness Facilities, Locker Room, Relaxation Lounge, Treatment Rooms, and Retail.
Interview and select applicants, supervise and discipline spa employees, conduct performance evaluations, and foster positive employee morale.
Administer department goods, requisitions, inventories, storage, and cost-effective use of products in accordance with standards and budget.
Oversee equipment operation and cleanliness in spa areas, coordinating special requirements with Housekeeping, Laundry, and Engineering.
Integrate the Spa with Hotel operations where possible and in accordance with spa trends.
Participate in staff meetings to communicate hotel policies and changes and discuss ways to increase sales and service.
Create retail purchase orders in accordance with par levels and budget.
Organize and facilitate monthly and quarterly retail inventory.
Coordinate group bookings and conduct on-site Spa tours for key meeting planners.
Assist Spa and Salon departments with internal standards testing.
