About The Position

The Assistant Service Deli Manager assists with deli operations, including product costing, production, merchandising, receiving, storage, pricing, security, recordkeeping, and coordination with other departments. The role requires sufficient deli production knowledge to teach others fundamentals such as mixing, scaling, cooking, frying, and finishing. Work is generally performed in a safe and comfortable store environment, with possible frequent exposure to hot or cold conditions. The position has a minimum age requirement of 18 years. Requirements

Must be at least 18 years old.
Ability to cost materials to determine retail prices.
Knowledge of deli production fundamentals, including mixing, scaling, cooking, frying, and finishing.
Ability to perform tasks requiring grasping, pushing, pulling, carrying, stooping, twisting, crouching, reaching, repetitive motion, and eye, hand, and foot coordination.
Ability to hear and respond to customer inquiries.
Ability to stand, walk, and bend throughout the workday.
Ability to maneuver objects weighing up to 30 pounds.

Responsibilities

Cost materials to determine appropriate retail prices.
Teach others deli production fundamentals, including mixing, scaling, cooking, frying, and finishing.
Plan merchandising programs to increase sales.
Assist management with cross-merchandising ideas involving other departments.
Help maintain department security in compliance with company policies and directives.
Monitor competitive activity in the store's marketing areas as it relates to the Deli Department.
Exercise sound, honest judgment and protect the company's interests and investment.
Receive, store, price, and merchandise deli products.
Coordinate and communicate with other departments to support the flow of products and service throughout the store and deli operation.
Maintain appropriate department records.
