About The Position

Join a locally owned Great Clips salon as an Assistant Salon Manager. This leadership role combines cutting hair with supporting stylists and daily salon operations. The position is suited to licensed stylists who want to develop leadership skills, encourage their team, deliver excellent customer service, and help maintain a positive, organized salon environment. Management experience is not always required; many Assistant Salon Managers advance from stylist positions.

The employer is a Great Clips franchise operating 22 salons across New Jersey, Delaware, and Pennsylvania. Assistant Salon Managers receive leadership development, ongoing training, and opportunities to advance. Training in management and operations is provided through Great Clips University, with additional support and instruction from salon management. Great Clips salons are independently owned and operated by third-party franchisees, which are responsible for hiring and personnel matters.

Requirements

• Valid cosmetology and/or barber license; requirements vary by state or province.
• Strong technical haircutting skills.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Team-first mindset and desire to encourage and support others.
• Clear communication skills and a positive, motivating attitude.
• Organization and flexibility.
• Interest in developing leadership skills and taking on more responsibility.

• Prior management experience may be helpful but is not always required.

Responsibilities

• Cut hair while supporting the salon team and daily operations.
• Support, encourage, and motivate a team of stylists.

• Use salon technology, including Online Check-In and the Great Clips App, to support salon operations.
