About The Position

The Assistant Salon Manager supports the Salon Manager, helps guide and motivate the stylist team, and assists with keeping daily salon operations organized and running smoothly. The role combines haircutting with leadership responsibilities, allowing the person to continue serving clients while supporting the team and developing management skills. Training in management and operations is provided through Great Clips University (GCU), with ongoing support from salon management. The role may provide opportunities to advance to Salon Manager or other leadership positions. Great Clips salons are independently owned and operated by franchisees, who are responsible for hiring and personnel matters.

Requirements

• A valid cosmetology and/or barber license; requirements vary by state or province.
• Strong technical haircutting skills and customer service.
• Strong communication skills and a positive, motivating attitude.
• A team-first mindset and willingness to encourage and support others.
• Organization and flexibility.
• Interest in developing leadership skills and taking on more responsibility.

Nice To Haves

• Prior management experience is not always required; an interest in leadership and supporting others is valued.
• Potential interest in growing toward a Salon Manager or other leadership role.
