About The Position

Goodwill Industries of Mid-Michigan is hiring a full-time Assistant Retail Store Manager at its Clio store. The role assists with store sales and gross margin goals, customer and donor relations, merchandising, employee management, safety, and efficient backroom operations. The position pays $18.00 per hour, offers a 20% discount on in-store purchases, and has potential monthly bonuses and career advancement opportunities.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Valid Michigan driver’s license.
At least one year of management experience.
At least one year of general retail, production, or customer service experience.
Ability to lift and carry 35 pounds, with or without assistance.
Ability to reach, bend, or stoop.
Ability to stand six to eight hours per day.
Reliable transportation to report to work on time.
Telephone access.
Ability to problem-solve quickly and efficiently.
Pleasant, cheerful, and professional demeanor.

Responsibilities

Assist in exceeding the assigned store’s budgeted sales and gross margin goals.
Promote positive donor and customer relations, service, and communication.
Merchandise the sales floor with attractive displays of quality goods in sufficient quantity to fill the store.
Assist with hiring, training, retaining, motivating, and communicating with store employees.
Adhere to all store safety standards.
Assist with safety training during regularly scheduled retail meetings.
Maintain the backroom layout standard to ensure efficiency.
Receive, process, stock, and rotate merchandise as productively as possible.
