About The Position

Accenture Construct is seeking an Assistant Resident Engineer to play a pivotal role in delivering complex, multi-jurisdictional bridge and roadway improvement projects. This leadership role involves supporting the Resident Engineer with field oversight, inspection, quality assurance, and contract administration throughout all phases of construction. The position requires onsite work with clients and partners to enable delivery and cultivate client relationships. Accenture Construct is Accenture's global capital projects business, focused on planning, engineering, and delivering critical infrastructure such as data centers, power grids, rail networks, factories, and public infrastructure.

Requirements

Engineer In Training (EIT) required.
Eight (8) years of roadway/highway construction inspection and field engineering experience on major public works projects.
One (1) Caltrans-administered or federally funded highway project.
Minimum three (3) years of experience in structural mechanics, stress analysis, or bridge construction inspection.

Nice To Haves

California Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) preferred.
Demonstrated knowledge of concrete and steel bridge materials, falsework, and shoring systems.
Strong written and verbal communication skills for coordination with contractors and public agencies.
Proficiency in Caltrans construction documentation standards, E-builder/PMCS systems, and Microsoft Office.
Experience as Assistant or Resident Engineer on bridge or river crossing projects.
Experience working for a heavy civil contractor performing roadway or bridge work.
Ability to lead field inspection staff and make timely, technically sound field decisions.
Familiarity with environmental compliance and stormwater management on Caltrans projects.
Prior work with Riverside County, City of Riverside, or Caltrans District 8 is highly desirable.
Experience on tolling, smart corridor, or ITS-equipped roadway projects.

Responsibilities

Support the Resident Engineer with field oversight, inspection, quality assurance, and contract administration throughout all phases of construction.
Perform and oversee daily inspections and quality assurance activities for bridge and roadway construction.
Verify contractor work for conformance with approved plans, specifications, and special provisions.
Coordinate with contractors, utilities, public agencies, and Construction Management Consultants to resolve field issues and minimize delays.
Review contractor submittments, RFI responses, progress schedules, and other project documentation.
Oversee and document construction materials testing and sampling to ensure compliance with project requirements.
Support contract administration, including change order preparation and negotiation, pay estimates, correspondence, and claims documentation.
Track contractor progress and prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports.
Perform or support calculations for grade, alignment, quantities, falsework, shoring, and structural components throughout construction, from foundation and falsework through bridge deck placement and roadway tie-ins.
Collaborate closely with Construction Management Consultants, including staking, materials testing, and environmental monitoring teams.
Manage the construction management team and oversee the contractor's compliance with the Contract.
