About The Position

Merrick & Company is looking for an Assistant Project Manager to support the execution and implementation of key project processes within the Energy Manufacturing and Bioprocessing Business Unit. The typical hourly pay range for this position is $40.00 - $54.00, with the offered pay depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or construction management.
  • Zero (0) - four (4) years of experience in engineering, project management, or construction.
  • Proficiency working with MS Office applications (Excel, Word, Access).
  • Eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

  • Passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Examination / Possess Engineer in Training (EIT) License.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Project and Primavera.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Project Managers in coordinating disciplines for engineering work products.
  • Develop, manage, and update key project execution documents, including labor estimating.
  • Develop project execution schedules and measure earned value.
  • Present project status reports including scope, schedule, and budget updates.
  • Assist in developing project scope and Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), including client site visits, coordination meetings, and support for construction activities.
  • Provide support to Project Managers in proposal and project opening.
  • Support Market Leads and Project Managers in entering and maintaining information in the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) Platform.
  • Interface with Merrick personnel and client representatives.
  • Organize and execute multiple assignments simultaneously.
  • Coordinate, manage, and communicate multiple project activities and demands, identifying priorities and critical issues.
  • Assist Project Managers in coordination with procurement and construction teams.
  • Coordinate resolution of project challenges and assist in driving resolutions.
  • Work with Project Managers to develop detailed, resource-loaded project design schedules.
  • Evaluate project schedule progress/performance and identify problem areas.
  • Monitor and implement the change management process for schedule changes.
  • Assist Project Managers in validating and approving invoices.
  • Ensure physical progress is measured and reported in WBS detail, and that the integrated schedule is updated based on progress.
  • Set up and support project quality processes.
  • Set up and support supplier/vendor drawing processes, including verifying submittals are accurate, timely, and complete.
  • Work with document control to ensure project documentation is complete.
  • Provide support to Project Managers to ensure adherence to the project close-out process.
