City of Hope has an immediately available tenure-track Assistant Professor opportunity in the Department of Stem Cell Biology and Regenerative Medicine at the Beckman Research Institute. The department brings together investigators studying the mechanisms governing stem cell function, tissue regeneration, aging, and cancer, with the aim of translating discoveries into patient therapies. Research programs include hematopoiesis, neurodegenerative disease, immuno-oncology, cancer biology, cardio-oncology, aging, and genetic disorders, and use technologies such as single-cell genomics, organoids and 3D disease models, gene editing, induced pluripotent stem cells, systems biology, and high-resolution imaging. Faculty collaborate with computational scientists, clinicians, and translational researchers. The position is suited to an early-career investigator with a strong focus on hematopoiesis, 3D models of hematopoietic diseases, and translational therapies. The successful candidate will bring expertise in human pluripotent stem cell culture, gene editing, directed differentiation into relevant hematopoietic tissues, and 3D organoid modeling, as well as a broad understanding of hematopoiesis, inflammation, and the bone marrow niche. The department is directed by Nadia Carlesso, MD/PhD.
