The laboratory of Dr. Jorge Múnera in the Department of Regenerative Medicine and Cell Biology seeks a postdoctoral fellow to study digestive diseases using animal models and human pluripotent stem cell-derived small intestinal and colonic organoids. The lab is part of the NIH-funded Digestive Disease Research Core Center (DDRCC) and the MUSC Center of Biomedical Research Excellence in Digestive & Liver Disease (COBRE CDLD), funded through NIGMS. The fellow will have access to multiple DDRCC and COBRE cores and will conduct research under the supervision of the PI. The role includes designing and implementing experiments, maintaining laboratory records and operations, training laboratory personnel, preparing manuscripts and conference presentations, and helping develop grant proposals and fellowship applications. Qualified candidates have a recent PhD, peer-reviewed research publications, expertise in cell biology and morphogenesis, and a strong interest in establishing an independent research program in developmental and stem cell biology. Recent PhD graduates from institutions outside MUSC will receive priority.
