The laboratory of Dr. Jorge Múnera in the Department of Regenerative Medicine and Cell Biology seeks a postdoctoral fellow to study digestive diseases using animal models and human pluripotent stem cell-derived small intestinal and colonic organoids. The laboratory is part of the NIH-funded Digestive Disease Research Core Center (DDRCC) and the MUSC Center of Biomedical Research Excellence (COBRE) in Digestive & Liver Disease, funded through the National Institute of General Medical Sciences. The fellow will have access to multiple DDRCC and COBRE cores and will conduct research in consultation with and under the supervision of the principal investigator. Recent PhD graduates from institutions outside MUSC will be given priority. The postdoctoral fellow will design and implement experiments, maintain laboratory records, assist with daily laboratory operations, and help train graduate students and other laboratory personnel. The role also includes drafting manuscripts, presenting research at conferences, collaborating with the PI on grant proposals, and applying for postdoctoral fellowship awards.
