About The Position

Eastern Connecticut State University is seeking a qualified candidate to fill the Assistant Professor – Cell Biology, Tenure Track position. Eastern is Connecticut’s Public Liberal Arts University and is located in Willimantic, Connecticut. Eastern serves approximately 5,000 students, offers a wide range of undergraduate majors in the arts and sciences and professional studies, as well as selected graduates. Eastern is one of four universities in the Connecticut State College and University System (CSCU). The position also offers substantial health and retirement benefits. Requirements

Ph.D. in a biological science with expertise in cell biology.
Demonstrate an aptitude for teaching undergraduates.
Willingness to develop a productive research program involving undergraduates.

Expertise that complements the current strengths of the department.
Ability to teach Biological Chemistry and/or Histology.
Developing a course in the Eastern Liberal Arts Core (ELAC).
Contributing to a Histology Technician Certification program.

Responsibilities

Teaching the introductory Cell Structure and Function course and upper-level courses for biology majors in the candidate’s area of expertise.
Developing a productive research program involving undergraduates.
