About The Position

The Department of Health Sciences at Boston University’s Sargent College of Health & Rehabilitation Sciences invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in computational and cognitive neuroscience. The position focuses on scholars working with clinical populations who integrate data-driven, biologically informed modeling and machine learning for neural decoding, bridging fundamental discoveries with clinical applications in sensorimotor and cognitive function and rehabilitation. This position is part of Boston University’s University-wide cluster hire in Advancing Brain and Cognitive Health, a major convergent research investment spanning biology, biomedical engineering, electrical and computer engineering, health sciences, mathematics and statistics, and psychological and brain sciences. The cluster draws on BU’s strengths in neuroscience, engineering, computation, and AI to investigate neural information processing and develop approaches to neurological and psychiatric disease. The Department of Health Sciences is an interdisciplinary leader in research to improve health and well-being across diverse populations. Its programs and research address brain and cognitive health across the lifespan, including cognitive development, brain aging, dementia risk, mental health, rehabilitation, and quality of life. The department welcomes scholars whose work investigates biological mechanisms of brain health and disease, develops and tests interventions to promote cognitive resilience and prevent cognitive decline, improves access to evidence-based care, or addresses disparities in brain health outcomes. The successful scholar will contribute to the university community through innovative scholarship, engaged teaching, and participation in the intellectual life of the University.
