About The Position

The Ohio State University College of Medicine and the Wexner Medical Center seek a research faculty member to join the Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research in endocrinology disorders, leveraging state-of-the-art facilities and a collaborative environment. The role includes active engagement in teaching and mentoring the next generation of endocrinology specialists through lectures, seminars, and hands-on training. Collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, including clinicians, engineers, and basic scientists, is encouraged. Extensive institutional resources will support research endeavors.

Requirements

  • PhD or MD/PhD in an applicable field
  • Proven ability to write scientific reports and publish in scientific, peer-reviewed journals preferred
  • Current, active extramural grant funding (equivalent to NIH R01 or Career Development Award)
  • Academic experience a plus
  • Qualify for an academic appointment at the Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor level – Academic rank and salary will be commensurate with previous training experience

Responsibilities

  • Conceptualizes, plans, designs, implements and conducts research studies in the area of endocrinology including, but not limited to endocrinology disorders, diabetes, metabolism, endocrine cancer, reproductive endocrinology, lipids, osteoporosis, and neuroendocrine
  • Develops and writes grant proposals to seek and obtain extramural funding to support research program; obtains and maintains NIH R01 or equivalent funding
  • Writes and publishes research in high quality peer reviewed, scientific journals; attends and makes presentations of research at national and international scientific conferences; develops national and international scholarly reputation
  • Instructs and mentors junior scientists, doctoral and postdoctoral students, medical students, residents and fellow trainees; participates in Department, College and University committees and initiatives
