About The Position

We are seeking a dynamic and collaborative Division Director for our Endocrinology, Metabolism, and Diabetes Division in our Department of Medicine. In addition to providing high-quality patient-centered care to our diverse patient population and educating medical students, residents, and fellows, the Division Director will also provide strategic, clinical, academic, and administrative leadership. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong leadership and clinical skills, documented research, academic accomplishments, and show alignment with the mission and values of Hennepin Healthcare (HHS). About the Division Committed to serving patients from diverse socioeconomic, gender, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds The Division of Endocrinology has an ACGME accredited fellowship program, and its faculty are affiliated with the University of Minnesota. Patient care and support staff includes Endocrinologists, a Diabetes Physician Associate, Diabetes Nurse Practitioners, Certified Diabetes Educators, Dietitians, Registered Nurses, Pharmacists, and Social Workers (by referral)

Requirements

  • MD or DO degree.
  • BC/BE to practice as a physician in Minnesota
  • Completion of an ACGME, AOA or Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada accredited training in Residency training program in Internal Medicine.
  • Completion of an ACGME, AOA or Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada accredited training in Fellowship training program in Endocrinology.
  • Board certification in Endocrinology is required within 4 years of completing training.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic direction and oversight of clinical, educational, and research activities within the Division.
  • Promote excellence in patient care and support innovative models for improving quality and outcomes.
  • Support and expand scholarly work in areas such as diabetes, thyroid disorders, obesity, and bone metabolism.
  • Collaborate with the University of Minnesota School of Medicine. Support and advance the Endocrinology Fellowship Program and contribute to medical student and resident education.
  • Collaborate with organization leaders to align divisional goals with those of the Department of Medicine and HHS.
  • Recruitment, mentorship, support and career development of faculty and trainees.
