About The Position

The College of Agricultural Sciences | Agricultural Education, Communication & Sciences invites applications for a full-time (1.00 FTE), 9-month, tenure-track Assistant Professor position. Join Oregon State University’s nationally recognized berry research and extension program and contribute to innovative, applied research that directly impacts the Pacific Northwest blueberry industry. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work at the intersection of horticultural science, technology innovation, and grower outreach. The Project Manager will work closely with the Project Director, faculty investigators, research staff, industry partners, and other stakeholders to facilitate effective communication and coordination across the project team. Responsibilities will include developing and maintaining project schedules; coordinating meetings and offsite research activities; monitoring project progress, spending and documenting accomplishments; assisting with preparation of annual NIFA reports, technical reports, presentations, and other project deliverables; and maintaining organized project data records and documentation.

Requirements

• A doctorate degree in agricultural communications, communication(s), life science communications, mass communications, journalism, or closely related field.
• Evidence of successful teaching experience in agricultural communications or natural resources communication, OR successful teaching experience in other fields of communication with expertise in science, including science communication, mass communication, life science communication, or journalism.
• Evidence of a successful publication record commensurate with the expectations of a tenure-track position.
• Demonstrated success and commitment to effective teaching.
• Demonstrated success and commitment to research in agricultural, natural resources, and science communication contexts.
• Demonstrated success and commitment to scholarship.
• Demonstrated success and commitment to service.

• Must successfully complete a criminal history check and be determined to be position qualified as per University Standard: 05-010 et seq.
• Incumbents are required to self-report convictions and those in youth programs may have additional criminal history checks every 24 months.

Responsibilities

• Provide administrative leadership for the SCRI project.
• Implement project strategies to achieve research, extension, education, and commercialization objectives.
• Lead project implementation, evaluation, and continuous improvement activities.
• Ensure project activities align with USDA-NIFA SCRI goals and stakeholder priorities.
• Oversee day-to-day project operations across multiple institutions and disciplines.
• Coordinate activities among co-PIs, research staff, extension personnel, students, and industry collaborators.
• Convene and facilitate project meetings, advisory board meetings, and stakeholder engagement activities.
• Monitor project milestones, deliverables, timelines, and performance metrics.
• Resolve operational challenges and ensure timely completion of project objectives.
• Oversee project budgets and resource allocation across participating institutions.
