About The Position

The Department of Statistics and Data Science in the College of Arts & Sciences at Texas A&M University is seeking to hire two tenure-track Assistant Professors. These full-time, 9-month appointments are expected to begin in August 2027. The department welcomes applications from all research areas, with a particular interest in candidates specializing in Biostatistics/Bioinformatics or Statistical AI/Machine Learning. Candidates with a demonstrated history of interdisciplinary research and a focus on computational methods will be viewed favorably. In addition to pursuing impactful research, the selected individuals will be responsible for teaching courses at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, mentoring graduate students, and contributing to departmental and professional service. The department offers access to excellent computing resources and anticipates providing competitive startup packages and initial salaries.

Requirements

• PhD/DSc degree in Statistics, Biostatistics, Computer Science, Engineering or related fields.
• Evidence of interdisciplinary research and focus on computational aspects is a plus.
