About The Position

The Department of Nuclear Engineering (NUEN) at Texas A&M University's College of Engineering is seeking to fill up to four full-time, tenure-track positions at the Assistant Professor level. These positions come with a 9-month academic appointment, with a potential for an additional summer appointment based on need and funding. The anticipated start date is August 2027. The department is interested in candidates specializing in advanced fission reactors (including multiphysics analysis, safety, risk analysis, and instrumentation and controls), radiation detection and measurement (detector and instrumentation development, radiation spectroscopy), and fusion science and engineering (fusion power plant engineering, power conversion, inertial fusion energy, high-energy-density physics, magnetic confinement, and plasma physics). Interdisciplinary research bridging these areas or offering complementary skills is highly encouraged. Both experimental and computational expertise, or a combination thereof, are welcome. The department also welcomes research and teaching that incorporates data science, artificial intelligence, or machine learning to advance nuclear engineering principles.

Requirements

• Doctorate in Nuclear Engineering or other suitable engineering field or natural sciences
