About The Position

The Assistant Professor is a non-administrative faculty, with full rights and responsibilities of the full-time faculty. Primary responsibility for the faculty focuses on providing instruction and an effective environment for student learning, service, and scholarship. This position is a full-time, 12-month appointment.

Requirements

  • Two (2) years’ experience working as a Physician Assistant
  • Earned Master’s Degree; Ideal candidate will have a degree in Physician Assistant Studies
  • National Commission on Certification of Physician’s Assistant (NCCPA)

Responsibilities

  • Actively engages the Catholic and Franciscan mission and identity of Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady University by modeling the Franciscan values, promoting justice for the communities we serve, and integrating the Catholic and Franciscan intellectual traditions in courses, programs and services
  • Prepares instruction that reflects stated course student learning outcomes
  • Constructs classroom materials that support the goals of the course
  • Prepares thoroughly for each instructional hour; Instructs and guides the class in an efficient and effective manner
  • Maintains accurate records of student work and attendance, and post grades in a timely manner
  • Implements curricular and instructional interventions
  • Develop student learning outcomes
  • Applies what has been learned from formative and summative feedback on instruction
  • Utilized Peer Review and Coaching
  • Reflects on summative students’ evaluation of Academic Advising Experience
  • Assesses reports and perceptions of peers and others regarding fidelity to Academic Advising roles and responsibilities
  • Engages in professional development activities to promote development in the scholarship of teaching and learning
  • Presents at local, state, national and international professional conferences
  • Demonstrates publication of works identifying type (i.e., peer review), audience (i.e., journal and journal distribution), and focus (discovery, application and/or integrated knowledge focus)
  • Demonstrates citations of won work(s) in others’ works
  • Solicits and participates in funded research (identifying specific role, funding source, and status of project)
  • Advises students through feedback, coaching, remediation, and engagement
  • Adheres to professional standards of conduct and corrective action policies noted in the College Employee and Student Services Handbooks
  • Participate in local, state, national, or international professional agencies
  • Participates in committee work at the program, school, or institutional level (delineate roles and nature of participation)
  • Performs other duties as assigned
