About The Position

The Construction Management Program at Western New England University (WNE) seeks applications for a non-tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor of Practice, beginning in Fall 2026. Candidates for this position must hold a Ph.D. in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, Architectural Engineering or a closely related field, and must demonstrate the ability or potential for excellence in teaching at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Exceptional candidates with MS in the stated fields and at least five years of industry experience will be considered as a Professional Educator. The Construction Management Department is the newest department within the College of Engineering (COE) and offers Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in Construction Management. The COE offers BS degrees in Civil and Environmental, Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, Computer, and Biomedical engineering. It also offers MS and PhD degrees in multiple programs. Western New England University is a private, independent, coeducational institution founded in 1919. Requirements

  • Ph.D. in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, Architectural Engineering or a closely related field
  • Demonstrate the ability or potential for excellence in teaching at both the undergraduate and graduate levels
  • MS in the stated fields and at least five years of industry experience (for Professional Educator consideration)

Nice To Haves

  • College-level teaching experience (graduate TA experience acceptable)
  • Expertise in (but not limited to) Construction Robotics, Automation in Construction, Smart Construction and Infrastructure Systems, or Building-human interaction
  • Effective teaching and pedagogy skills appropriate to the position
  • Industry experience
  • Pursue professional licensure

Responsibilities

  • Teach undergraduate and graduate-level courses in construction management, construction engineering, and related courses (4 courses per semester or 24 credits per year)
  • Advise students
  • Lead national and international student competitions
