About The Position

The Department of Management in the Sam M. Walton College of Business at the University of Arkansas is seeking candidates for a tenure-track Assistant Professor faculty position with a specialization in organizational behavior, human resource management, and/or organizational research methods. The expected start date is August 2027. Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience. Job duties include research, teaching, and service. Conducting and publishing research in the top academic journals in management is the primary job duty. Teaching expectations include teaching in person classes at the undergraduate, masters, or doctoral level, and holding in-person office hours. The college requires service to the profession, university, and department at a level consistent with faculty rank. We also expect faculty to actively engage in department, college, and university activities at a level consistent with the AACSB designation of a participating faculty member. Regular on-campus availability, in-person teaching, and active contribution to the life of the department, including exhibiting respect and cooperation in shared academic and administrative tasks are essential duties.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in management specializing in organizational behavior, human resource management, and/or organizational research methods or a Ph.D. in a related discipline (e.g., industrial/organizational psychology) from an AACSB (or equivalent) accredited university.
  • Demonstrated record, or strong potential, of publications in top-tier management journals.
  • Record of presentations at major academic conferences and papers under review at top-tier management journals.
  • Ability and interest to teach courses in organizational behavior, human resources management, and/or organizational research methods.
  • Meet standards to be classified as a Scholarly Academic for AACSB purposes.
  • Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment.
