About The Position
Thomas Jefferson University's College of Humanities and Sciences is seeking an Assistant Professor of Mathematics. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching 12 credits per semester in mathematics, covering both introductory and advanced topics. This includes teaching within the General Education curriculum and courses required for science, engineering, and design majors. The role also involves participating in service activities at the program, college, and university levels, contributing to course assessment, conducting regular office hours, and attending monthly College faculty meetings.
Requirements
- Experience teaching mathematics at the University level is required.
- Demonstrate an aptitude to engage in a collaborative teaching and learning environment.
- Demonstrate the ability to apply active student learning pedagogies in the college classroom.
- At least a Master’s degree in mathematics or math pedagogy (Ed.D. preferred), or a closely related discipline, by the employment start date.
Nice To Haves
- 3-4 years of experience teaching mathematics at the University level is preferred.
- Ed.D. in math pedagogy is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Teach 12 credits in mathematics per semester at both introductory and advanced levels.
