About The Position

The Department of Information Systems and Operations Management in the Miller College of Business at Ball State University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position beginning August 2027. Candidates with an interest and ability to teach undergraduate and/or graduate business analytics and information systems courses and conduct quality research in the same fields are encouraged to apply. Employer will consider sponsorship.

Requirements

• Earned doctorate in Business Analytics and Information Systems or closely related fields from an accredited institution.
• Candidates with ABD will be considered and must demonstrate satisfactory progress toward completion of the doctoral degree consistent with university policy.
• Evidence of, or demonstrated potential for high-quality scholarly research and effective university-level teaching.

Nice To Haves

• Record of scholarly publications in peer-reviewed quality journals.
• Experience in creative teaching methods such as experiential-learning, service-learning, immersive-learning, or other instructional innovations.
• On-line teaching experience.
• Evidence of active involvement in external grant writing.
• Business experience in the field of Information Systems or related areas.
• Ability to teach and conduct research in Business Analytics and Information Systems.

Responsibilities

• Teaching nine semester hours each fall and spring semester in subjects such as but not limited to: business analytics, Information Systems, Networking, Database, cyber security, AI in business.
• Assignment may include undergraduate and graduate courses, which may be delivered on-line, synchronously or asynchronously.
• Scholarly activity and service.
