About The Position

Wiley University, a private historically Black university affiliated with The United Methodist Church, seeks to fill a full-time, open rank faculty position in Computer Information Systems within the School of Business and Social Sciences. This position is open at the Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor rank, welcoming applications from early career scholars, established faculty, and industry practitioners. The successful candidate will teach across the Computer Information Systems curriculum, contribute to the Bachelor of Business Administration degree and related technology offerings, and help shape a program preparing students for careers in information systems, data analytics, cybersecurity, enterprise technology, and information technology management. Special consideration will be given to candidates whose work engages emerging areas like artificial intelligence, data science, cloud computing, and business intelligence. Wiley University is looking for a colleague who is passionate about the mission of a historically Black university and committed to student mentorship, industry credentialing pathways, and experiential learning.

Requirements

• Terminal degree in Computer Information Systems or a closely related field (for Associate Professor and Professor ranks).
• Master's degree with substantial graduate coursework and significant professional practice in the discipline (for Assistant Professor rank).
• Evidence of effective teaching or clear potential for excellence in student-centered instruction.
• Emerging record of scholarship, applied research, or professional contribution to the field (for Assistant Professor).
• A sustained record of effective college-level teaching, typically a minimum of five years (for Associate Professor).
• An established record of scholarship, applied research, professional publication, funded projects, or recognized industry contribution (for Associate Professor).
• Demonstrated service to the department, institution, discipline, or professional community (for Associate Professor).
• An extensive and distinguished record of college-level teaching, typically a minimum of ten years (for Professor).
• A national or regional reputation established through scholarship, funded research, professional practice, or industry leadership (for Professor).
• A record of academic leadership, curriculum development, mentorship of colleagues, and sustained institutional service (for Professor).

• Candidates whose teaching and scholarship engage emerging areas such as artificial intelligence, data science, cloud computing, and business intelligence are particularly encouraged to apply.
• Credentials to teach at the collegiate level.
• Administrative experience and leadership capacity for the Department Chair role.

Responsibilities

• Teach across the Computer Information Systems curriculum.
• Contribute to the Bachelor of Business Administration degree and related technology offerings.
• Help shape a program that prepares students for careers in information systems, data analytics, cybersecurity, enterprise technology, and information technology management.
• Invest deliberately in student mentorship, industry credentialing pathways, and experiential learning.
• Possible administrative duties as Chair of the Department of Computer Information Systems and Accounting, including course scheduling, faculty load assignment, adjunct recruitment and supervision, faculty credentialing documentation, program assessment and review, budget recommendation and monitoring, advisory board and industry engagement, student advising oversight, and accreditation reporting for both departments.
