About The Position

The School of Medicine Obstetrics and Gynecology department is seeking a full-time gynecologist with subspecialty certification in Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery. The successful candidate will provide ambulatory and surgical care for women with a variety of gynecologic conditions, focusing on pelvic support disorders and urinary incontinence. This role involves direct clinical supervision and didactic instruction of residents, as well as student lectures, seminars, moderation, and clinical teaching. The position also includes participation in the department's clinical research program, patient recruitment, direct patient care in the emergency department and inpatient consultations, and other clinical activities. The candidate will consult with the Chair on market opportunities, participate in productivity and cost analysis projects, collaborate with the Curriculum committee to align departmental and institutional goals, and explore innovative teaching techniques.

Requirements

  • Subspecialty certification in Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery.

Responsibilities

  • Provide ambulatory and surgical care for women with a variety of gynecologic conditions with a focus on pelvic support disorders and urinary incontinence.
  • Provide direct clinical supervision of residents.
  • Provide didactic instruction to residents.
  • Provide student lectures, seminar, moderation and clinical teaching in conjunction with student curriculum devised by the Clerkship Director.
  • Participate on the clinical research program develop on the department and facilitate recruitment of patients on an as needed basis.
  • Provide direct patient care.
  • Provide gynecologic care to women in the emergency department and inpatient consultation.
  • Participate in other clinical activities of the department.
  • Consult with Chair on any potential new OB/ GYN market opportunities.
  • Participate in productivity and cost analysis projects.
  • Work closely with the Curriculum committee of MUSOM to ensure compatibility of departmental goals and objectives with institutional goals and objectives.
  • Explore new and innovative teaching techniques.
