About The Position

St. John's University, established in 1870, is seeking an Assistant Professor Industry Professional for its Radiologic Sciences Program within the Department of Health Professions in the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. This is a tenure-track position. The university is committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion, and this role will contribute to that mission. The Department of Health Professions offers programs in Physician Assistant, Clinical Laboratory Science, and Radiologic Sciences, with 17 full-time tenured and tenure-track faculty members.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree or higher in related discipline
  • Current ARRT certification and registration in Radiography
  • Current or eligible for New York State Department of Health – Radiologic Technologist License and Registration
  • Minimum of two years’ clinical experience in professional discipline
  • Proficient in curriculum design, evaluation, instruction, program administration, and academic advising
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication, time management, and analytical skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365 including Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook

Nice To Haves

  • Current ARRT certification and registration in Mammography or other
  • Minimum of one year experience as an instructor or higher in a JRCERT accredited program

Responsibilities

  • Teaching may include didactic as well as clinical courses within the radiologic sciences
  • Coordination of didactic and clinical courses to support a competency-based curriculum
  • Evaluate student performance and providing remediation as needed
  • Participate in the accreditation and assessment processes
  • Participate in periodic review and revision of curriculum, course material, program policies, and procedures
  • Support the program director to assure effective program operations
  • Assist the clinical coordinator with daily operations of clinical education, assess students at their clinical rotation site, and development of new clinical site affiliations
  • Contribute to academic advisement
  • Serve as active member or chair of program, department, college, and university committees
  • Engage in active service, research and scholarship
  • Assist and attend student and program events
  • Maintain current knowledge of professional discipline and educational methodologies
  • Continuous faculty and professional development
  • Other duties as assigned by the Department Chair and Program Director
