About The Position

TransChicago Truck Group is a family-owned commercial truck dealership group representing Freightliner and Western Star, with sales, service, and parts operations. The Assistant Parts Manager oversees retail operations within the Parts department at the Elmhurst location. The role supports training, operational efficiency, and improvements to customer service across the front and back parts counters and phone room. It also uses reporting to develop sales strategies and help achieve company goals.

Requirements

Familiarity with parts operations.
Strong math and computer skills.
Effective time-management skills and the ability to handle multiple projects concurrently.
Positive attitude and self-motivation.
Ability to work independently to resolve issues and problems and to work in a team environment.
Ability to prioritize and work well under pressure in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Nice To Haves

Experience with Procede or another Dealer Management System (DMS).
Bachelor’s degree.

Responsibilities

Use multiple reports to ensure appropriate staffing levels throughout operating hours.
Assist with collecting past-due accounts.
Promote a customer-centric environment in which the inside sales team works to solve customer problems.
Coach and direct team leads to ensure accountability within their teams.
Assist the Parts Manager with setting and achieving sales and profit objectives.
Resolve customer complaints effectively and promptly.
Enforce established policies and procedures to maximize inventory security and minimize loss.
Work with the Parts Manager to increase sales and eliminate waste.
Ensure new counter staff complete required training and have the tools and support needed to succeed.
Work with corporate parts staff to understand stocking levels, meet outside vendors, and gather customer feedback.
