Assistant or Associate Professor - Anatomy
About The Position
The School of Medicine seeks a faculty member for appointment as Assistant or Associate Professor, non-tenure track, in the Department of Anatomy. Responsibilities will include teaching and leadership in Anatomy courses for students in graduate, MD, physician assistant, and undergraduate curricula. The faculty member will serve as a member of the Graduate Executive Committee and in other administrative roles in the department as needed. It is estimated that teaching will account for 60-90% of faculty effort. The position is hired in the non-tenure track, but the university allows faculty to transfer to the tenure track. In the School of Medicine, this is usually based on scholarly research. Applicants conducting research in anatomical sciences or medical education are especially encouraged to apply.
Requirements
- PhD in Anatomy or a related field.
- Experience teaching dissection-based gross anatomy and related disciplines at the graduate/professional level.
- Evidence of teaching effectiveness and innovation is strongly preferred.
- Appointment at the Associate Professor level typically requires at least 6 years of experience at the Assistant Professor level or equivalent rank.
