About The Position

The Department of Exercise & Sport Science at the University of Wisconsin - La Crosse is seeking applicants for a 9-month tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor. The department encourages applications from candidates with expertise in areas such as exercise physiology, human physiology, integrative physiology, applied physiology, systemic physiology (cardiorespiratory, metabolic, neurological, etc.), pathophysiology, or related fields. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching undergraduate and/or graduate courses, advising students, maintaining currency in their content area, evaluating student work, assessing student outcomes, providing feedback, maintaining records, and holding office hours. Additionally, the candidate is expected to maintain an active program of scholarship and provide service to the department, college, university, community, and/or professional organizations. The College of Science & Health (CSH) is the largest academic unit at UWL, comprising diverse disciplines and known for faculty mentorship, undergraduate research, and graduate education. CSH offers state-of-the-art facilities, interdisciplinary centers, collaborative partnerships (including with the Mayo Clinic Health System), and potential start-up support for new faculty.

Requirements

  • Doctorate in Exercise Physiology/Kinesiology/Exercise Science discipline or related field. The degree must be earned by the end of the first academic year.
  • Evidence of the ability to be an effective instructor.
  • Evidence of clear and effective communication skills.

  • Evidence of ability to contribute to multiple areas of undergraduate and/or graduate curriculum in the Department of Exercise and Sport Science.
