About The Position

The Department of Kinesiology, Health Promotion and Recreation in the College of Public Affairs and Health Sciences at the University of North Texas invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Exercise Physiology. We are seeking an innovative scientist whose research falls under the umbrella of exercise physiology, including but not limited to: sport nutrition, dietary supplementation, exercise metabolism, hydration physiology, exercise immunology, molecular aspects of exercise, genetics, optimization of acute and chronic training, tactical/first responder populations, and others. Requirements

  • Ph.D. in Exercise Physiology, Nutrition, Kinesiology, or a closely related field.
  • Evidence of a strong and growing research program with significant publication potential.
  • Evidence of potential for obtaining external funding opportunities.
  • Evidence of potential for excellence in teaching graduate and undergraduate students.

Nice To Haves

  • Postdoctoral research experience.
  • Record of scholarly publications in high-impact journals.
  • Experience mentoring undergraduate or graduate researchers.
  • Experience working in an interdisciplinary research environment
  • Active membership in professional organizations (i.e., ACSM, NSCA, APS. Etc.)

Responsibilities

  • Develop and sustain a nationally recognized, externally funded research program
  • Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in exercise physiology and related areas.
  • Mentor master's and doctoral students while fostering a collaborative research environment.
  • Publish high-impact scholarly work and present research at national and international conferences.
  • Develop interdisciplinary collaborations across the university and with external partners.
  • Contribute to curriculum development, departmental service, and professional service.
  • Contribute to departmental, college, university, and professional service.
