About The Position

Under the direction of the nurse manager or other nursing leader, the assistant nurse manager has responsibility for the effective implementation of the philosophy, goals, policies, and procedures of the hospital and the nursing department and their effect on patient care in the department. Requirements

• Effective June 1, 2025, a bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN) is Required.
• Two+ years of clinical experience Required.
• MI Registered Nurse (RN) Required.
• AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) Required.

Nice To Haves

• Participation in leadership activities (Unit, hospital or system Shared Governance meetings, Precepting, Charge nurse role) Preferred.

Responsibilities

• Under the direction of the nurse manager or other nursing leader, the assistant nurse manager has responsibility for the effective implementation of the philosophy, goals, policies, and procedures of the hospital and the nursing department and their effect on patient care in the department.
• Weekend and holiday on-call (rotating)
• Quarterly weekend service line rounding
• 2-3 non-Corewell Health observed holidays (Easter, Mothers Day, Halloween, etc.)
• 3 weekend shifts during 6 week scheduling period within weekend zone (3pm Friday through 7am Monday)
