About The Position

Raley’s is hiring an Assistant Meat Team Leader to assist with the day-to-day operations of the Meat department and help lead the team. The role calls for a positive, motivated leader with a passion for food, strong leadership and results-oriented skills, and close attention to detail. The Assistant Meat Team Leader supports department operations, promotes food safety and sanitation, and provides excellent customer service. The position includes assisting the Meat Team Leader with department tasks, preparing meat for retail sale, leading and developing Team Members, and helping manage merchandising, quality, sales, shrink, expenses, labor, and productivity. The role also involves daily interactions with customers and sharing food knowledge with customers and colleagues. Applicants must be at least 18 years old. Employees may occasionally need to perform physical activities for extended periods, including standing, sitting, lifting and stocking items up to 50 pounds, pushing, keyboarding, telephone use, walking, and bending. Internal transfer and promotion candidates must have had no disciplinary action during the prior six months, and their current leader must recommend and endorse their application upon request from HR. Internal candidates may be asked to accept a part-time position if that is the only position available.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years old.
Friendly and customer-service-oriented; interest in food is a plus.
Self-motivated, with strong attention to detail, quality, and presentation.
Able to communicate effectively with coworkers and customers.
Able to work independently, manage time effectively, and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Able to read, understand, and follow verbal and written directions.
Able to reliably meet the required work schedule and comply with the company attendance policy.
May need to perform extended periods of standing, sitting, lifting and stocking up to 50 pounds, pushing, keyboarding, telephone use, walking, and bending.

Responsibilities

Assist the Meat Team Leader with all department tasks.
Cut and trim meat to company standards for retail sale.
Lead, train, coach, and communicate with department Team Members.

Manage day-to-day department operations, merchandising, and quality control of department offerings.
Drive department sales while managing shrink and expenses.
