About The Position

The Assistant Manager backs up the Store Manager in managing the day-to-day operations of a Lee’s Discount Liquor retail store. The role supports revenue growth, receiving, inventory turnover and transfers, proper store opening and closing, store cleanliness and stocking, customer service, and team building. The Assistant Manager also supervises the team when the Store Manager is out of the store.

The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent and 3–5 years of retail experience. Liquor experience is preferred. An associate’s or bachelor’s degree is also preferred. Candidates should have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication, organizational and attention-to-detail skills, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines. Intermediate Excel skills and effective use of Microsoft applications are required.

Requirements

Responsibilities

• Drive revenue and customer counts.
• Ensure stores are visually enticing, neat, clean, and organized, and that sale signs are displayed accurately and on time.
• Place weekly store orders with distributors and ensure receiving is processed accurately.
• Manage inventory, maintain proper inventory levels, and execute proper shelf management.
• Identify opportunities to grow the business and improve sales.
• Ensure compliance with internal control procedures and conduct weekly reconciliations of cash on hand.
• Manage refunds, voids, and discounts daily.
• Supervise the team when the Store Manager is out of the store.
• Follow procedures and controls, as well as corporate accounting procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
